Body mass index is a quick screening measure that compares your weight with your height. Enter your details to see your BMI, what it means, and the healthy weight range for your height.
How this works
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². For pounds and inches the same result comes from 703 × weight (lb) ÷ height (in)².
Adult categories follow the World Health Organization: under 18.5 underweight, 18.5–24.9 healthy, 25–29.9 overweight, 30 and above obesity. BMI does not tell muscle from fat, so very muscular people can read high. It is not designed for children, teens or pregnancy.
Results are estimates for general information only and are not medical advice. Talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before making major changes to your diet or exercise, especially if you are pregnant or have a health condition.
