Push-Up Test

How many push-ups can you do? Find out how your upper-body strength and endurance rate for your age and sex.

How this works

Do as many push-ups as you can with good form and no rest. Men use the standard position on the toes; women use the modified position on the knees. Lower until your chest is about a fist’s height from the floor and push back to straight arms.

Ratings use the Canadian Physical Activity, Fitness & Lifestyle Approach norms, as published by the American College of Sports Medicine.

Results are estimates for general information only and are not medical advice. Talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before making major changes to your diet or exercise, especially if you are pregnant or have a health condition.
