Find out roughly how many calories you burn walking, running, cycling, swimming, lifting, doing yoga and dozens of other activities.
How this works
Calories = MET × 3.5 × body weight (kg) ÷ 200 × minutes. A MET (metabolic equivalent) is the energy cost of an activity compared with sitting quietly.
MET values come from the Compendium of Physical Activities. Real burn varies with effort, fitness and technique, so use the result as an estimate.
Stop exercising and rest if you feel pain, dizziness or unusual shortness of breath. Check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
